Hello Nisswa Warriors,
March is here, and we are stepping into it with so much momentum! We wrapped up last week with an awesome Warrior Way Rally, and it set the tone perfectly for this month’s character focus. From there, our Wax Museum was incredible — the confidence, preparation, and pride our students showed was just so fun to see. It was one of those weeks that reminds you how much our students are growi
In March, we are focusing on Leadership. Not the “stand on stage” kind of leadership — the everyday kind. Leadership means making strong choices, encouraging others, taking ownership of learning, and modeling GRIT — Generosity, Resiliency, Integrity, and Teamwork — even when no one is watching. You’ll see it in classrooms, in the lunchroom, on the playground, and in small group work. March is about growing confident, capable student leaders.
There is so much ahead this month — continued learning momentum, leadership opportunities, Bloom excitement building, awareness days where we come together in support of others, and even some Future Warrior fun mixed in.
Spring conferences will occur during March. Not all families will have a formal conference — meetings are scheduled only if there is a need. Teachers will reach out if a conference would be beneficial. If you have recently connected through an IEP meeting, phone call, or other communication, an additional meeting may not be necessary. As always, families are welcome to reach out at any time.

There are many exciting days and activities on our calendar, so please be sure to check the Nisswa Elementary Events Calendar in ParentSquare or on our website often. We do not list everything here, and new fun things are always popping up.
Thank you for continuing to support your Warrior and for partnering with us as we grow leaders at Nisswa Elementary.
With Warrior Pride! 💙

Do you know a future Warrior? We are excited to welcome our incoming kindergarten families for Future Warriors Night on Wednesday, March 25 from 5:00–6:30 p.m. at Nisswa Elementary. This evening is for families of students entering kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year. |
|
Families will explore the building, meet our team, learn what kindergarten looks like at Nisswa, and begin their Warrior journey. | If there’s a little one in your world already practicing carrying a backpack and asking when kindergarten starts in 2026–2027, this night is for them. And here’s where we need you — help us get the word out. Share this with neighbors. Mention it at daycare pickup. Send it to grandparents. Post it in group chats. If you know a family with a soon-to-be kindergartener, please pass it along. This is where the Warrior journey begins. Only in Nisswa. 💙

🌲🦆 Duck, Duck, BLOOM is Almost Here! 🦆🌲 |
|
Well hey there, Nisswa — it’s officially Bloom season!
Our 21st Annual Bloom Fundraiser is happening Friday, April 17 at The Catalyst on Clark Lake, and this year’s Minnesota-themed celebration, Duck, Duck, BLOOM, is going to be something special.
Bloom fuels the field trips, classroom extras, transportation, hands-on learning, and those unforgettable “Only in Nisswa” experiences for our students. It’s for the kids. Always.
And right now — we need you.
We are building incredible LIVE and SILENT AUCTIONS and are looking for amazing items and experiences. Cabin stays. Guided fishing trips. Lake days. Hosted dinners. Sports tickets. Gift cards. Services. Creative packages. Anything uniquely Minnesotan that makes someone say, “Oh my gosh, I have to bid on that.” If you’ve got a connection, a talent, a business, or an idea — this is your sign.
Submit your donation here:
And don’t just donate — join us.
Only those in the room on April 17 can bid on the LIVE auction items (that’s where the real Minnesota-friendly bidding wars happen 😉). Gather your crew and grab your seats now.
Can’t make it in person? You can still be part of the fun. The SILENT AUCTION will open online about a week before the event, so you can bid from your couch, your cabin, or the hockey rink. We’ve got you covered.
Now let’s talk attire. Yes, flannel can be fancy. Be creative. Anything that says “Minnesota” to you — go for it. Bling up your best trousers to reflect our beautiful waters. Shine up your best steel-toe stilettos for a little wood-splitting glam. We are outdoorsy… but we are fancy too or not...we don't judge. Cabin chic. Lake luxe. Minnesota bold.
And as always — kind. We show up for our students, we show up for each other, and we do it with heart.
Let’s make this the best Bloom ever. Want to get involved or learn more? Join us

👋Visitors & Volunteering🙌 |
|
All visitors to Nisswa Elementary will be asked to present a government-issued ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport card) upon entering the building. This is part of our new Raptor security system, which quickly scans IDs and checks them against a national database to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
The term “visitor” includes parents/guardians and community members who come for school events, classroom parties, dropping off materials, or other large-group activities. Classroom visits and field trip support will always be coordinated directly through your student’s classroom teacher.
Volunteers-We love our volunteers! To participate as a classroom volunteer, working in the classroom, field trip chaperone, book fair helper, or in any other volunteer role, the district requires two important steps each year:
👉 Please note: Applications take 5–7 business days to process. Be sure to plan ahead if you’d like to help with an upcoming event or field trip.
Thank you for supporting our school—we couldn’t do it without you! 💙ouWe wrapped up last week with an awesome Warrior Way Rally, and it set the tone perfectly for this month’s character focus.
